Ask Epicor a question. Describe what to build.
KinetiX is a chat for your Epicor ERP. You type, it looks things up. Every answer lists the lookups behind it. Nothing changes until you approve it.
Signed-in users use their own Epicor username and password.
How a request goes
Type a question about the screen you have open, or describe what to build. The side panel tells KinetiX which Kinetic screen that is.
KinetiX reads Epicor as you, with your Epicor permissions, and lists each lookup while it works.
The answer ends with its sources: the screen and service it read, the filter, and the time each took.
A change arrives as a card. KinetiX validated the BAQ against Epicor and saved nothing yet.
Approving runs the change under your Epicor account. A build with several steps moves on to its next card.
Ask where something is or how to do it. KinetiX finds the screen in your Epicor menu, opens it, and highlights each field in order.
Ask or build
Ask about your Epicor data, or describe a query, report, or menu to build.
Two lines on PO 4512 are past their due date and still open:
| Line | Part | Open qty | Due | Days late |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | BR-1040 | 120 | 2026-10-02 | 28 |
| 3 | SH-0220 | 40 | 2026-10-15 | 15 |
Step 1 of 2: the BAQ. I checked the tables and fields against Epicor.
Build a BAQ: needs your approval
| Tables | POHeader, PODetail, Vendor |
|---|---|
| Fields | Vendor.Name as Supplier, POHeader.PONum, PODetail.PartNum, PODetail.DueDate |
| Joins | POHeader to PODetail, POHeader to Vendor |
| Criteria | PODetail.OpenLine = true, PODetail.DueDate < Today |
Saved PO_LateLines. Step 2 of 2: the report.
Publish a report: needs your approval
| Report ID | PO_LateLinesRpt |
|---|---|
| Title | Late PO lines by supplier |
| Data from BAQ | PO_LateLines |
Nothing was saved in Epicor. Tell me what to change in the BAQ, or ask something else.
Lines are added on the Lines panel of Purchase Order Entry. The walkthrough is open in your Kinetic tab.

Who uses it
Three jobs around the same Epicor system, and what each gets from KinetiX.
- Epicor administrators
- Add the company's Epicor connection once at /admin, signing in with a code sent to your email. Everyone else then signs in with their own Epicor account, so Epicor permissions stay in charge.
- Consultants
- Describe a BAQ, report or menu in plain words and approve each step. Ask KinetiX to compare Pilot with Live, or to promote BAQs, reports and menus between them; each promotion is planned against both environments and waits for your approval.
- People who work in Epicor
- Ask about orders, parts, purchase orders or customers in plain language. Each answer names the service it read, so you can check where a figure came from.
What you can ask and build
Type it the way you would say it to a colleague. Questions run at once. Anything that changes Epicor waits for you.
Show the 3 most recent sales orders with order number, date and amount.
Reads Erp.BO.SalesOrderSvc as you and answers with a table. The service and the time taken sit under the answer.
Read only, runs at once
Which open purchase order lines are past their need-by date?
Finds the right service, filters it, and lists each lookup so you can check where the figures came from.
Read only, runs at once
How do I add a line to a purchase order?
Finds Purchase Order Entry in your Epicor menu, opens it in your Kinetic tab, and highlights New Line, Part and Our Quantity in turn.
Read only, runs at once
Build a BAQ of open purchase order lines by vendor.
Checks the tables and fields against Epicor, validates the BAQ without saving it, then shows the tables, joins and criteria.
Waits for your approval
Make a report from that BAQ and put it on a menu.
A full build goes in order: the BAQ, then the report, then the menu entry. Each step has its own card.
Waits for your approval
Create a UD01 record with Key1 and Character01 filled in.
Shows the exact fields before anything is written. Decline leaves Epicor as it was.

Where you can use it
- Chat in the browser
Open /chat, sign in, and type. The layout also works on a phone.
- Chrome side panel
The same chat, next to Kinetic, as shown above. It tells KinetiX which Kinetic screen you have open, so you can ask about what is in front of you.
- Any AI client over MCP

What it will and will not do
It acts as you
Each person signs in with their own Epicor username and password. Reads run under that account and its permissions.
Changes wait for approval
Record edits and BAQ, report and menu builds appear as a card first. You approve or decline.
Credentials are encrypted at rest
The secrets stored for an Epicor connection are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are saved.
Read-only means read-only
On a connection authorized read-only, an approved change is not run.
Plans and prices
Start with a paid Pilot, credited to your first year. Team is $25 per user per month plus $500 a month for each Epicor company, billed yearly. Enterprise is quoted from $3,000 a month. Prices are in US dollars, before tax.

Questions people ask first
Short answers. The full list covers setup, security, using KinetiX and pricing.
Do we have to install anything on our Epicor server?
No. KinetiX is a hosted service that calls your Epicor REST API, so nothing is added to the server. The server does have to be reachable from the internet over HTTPS. If it sits behind a firewall, publish the REST address or use a tunnel. The epi command line runs from a consultant's own machine and can reach servers the hosted service cannot.
Does KinetiX change data without asking?
No. Questions are read-only lookups. A record edit, or a BAQ, report or menu build, appears as a card with the exact fields first, and nothing runs until you press the approve button. Decline leaves Epicor as it was. KinetiX proposes one change at a time. A connection that was authorized read-only refuses changes even after approval.
Whose permissions does KinetiX use?
Your own. Each person signs in with their own Epicor username and password, and reads and approved changes run under that account. If Epicor would refuse an action for you, it refuses it in KinetiX. There is no shared super-user.
Can we use KinetiX from Claude or ChatGPT?
Yes. KinetiX runs an MCP server at /mcp with OAuth 2.1, so Claude, ChatGPT and other MCP clients can connect. Each person signs in with their own Epicor account and chooses on the consent screen whether the client may also make changes. Without that grant, tools that change data are refused. The approval card is part of KinetiX's own chat. In other clients, change tools are marked as such so the client can ask you first.
Can it build BAQs, reports and menus?
Yes. Describe the result, for example open purchase order lines by vendor. KinetiX checks the tables and fields against Epicor, validates a BAQ without saving it, then shows an approval card. A full build goes in order: the BAQ, then a report on it, then a menu entry for the report, each step waiting for your approval.
How is KinetiX priced?
Prices are in US dollars, before tax. A Pilot starts from $3,000 one-off for 60 days and up to 10 users, and is credited to your first year of Team. Team is $25 per user per month plus $500 a month for each Epicor company, billed yearly. Enterprise, for several companies or sites, is quoted from $3,000 a month. You contract with OpexCG through an order form, not a checkout.
